Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr has officially recognized St. Peter Claver Latin School for Boys as a Catholic school of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, effective July 1, 2012. Since last January, the school has participated in the recognition process, successfully demonstrating that it meets a series of Archdiocesan, state, and federal standards. St. Peter Claver was founded by Fr. Albert Lauer, an Archdiocesan priest, in 1999. Located in the annex of Old St. Mary’s Church in Over-the-Rhine (Cincinnati), St. Peter Claver serves a population of urban boys in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.
